Free Schematics on-line!
Try these Links.
You really need a high-speed connection.
For Riders Manuals:
http://hertzmail.com/Riders-vols/
For Beitmans Manuals:
http://www.schmarder.com/radios/beitmans/index.htm
To download these the easiest way is to use a down loader program such as Orbit (FREE) All you do is right click in Orbit and use the selection-"Download Selected by Orbit" then click by checking each box of the files you want. It will take some time as most files are from about 8megs to over 50megs.
One of the things I would like to do is use a program called CUTEPDF (free) and print them to PDF files from DJ-View.
Or Net-ants

Re: Free Schematics on-line!
I would suggest NOT using a bulk downloading utility to grab all at one time. Be considerate to the host and other users. Retrieve a few each day instead.
Definitely good to have 'em all on hand. Also good to have the real books.

Re: Free Schematics on-line!
I don't think its a bandwidth problem. As it seems to download sequentially. Could be wrong though. I have a speed of about 1070KB sec,
I don't know if that would act as a bottleneck to the file provider, but I have noticed down load don't all finish at the same time. So it might depend on the software used, and I'm sure if I had 18-GB download speed that would bite into the the providers bandwidth. I'm glad though that you mentioned your perspective. It gives me food for thought, I think I'll research that to get some insight.
I used to use a dial-up modem and it was 12KB, then I went to another and it was 33KB then finally 56KB. It was more of a burden on my modem when downloading big files. LOL

Re: Free Schematics on-line!
On the homepage for the Rider manuals he mentions: due to excessive bandwidth consumption, manuals are only available from 11:00 PM ET to 7:00 AM ET. I don't think that's enforced, but a suggestion that would be a good idea to follow.
There seem to be guys selling Rider DVD's on eBay for under $10 that also include all of the Beitman manuals that are already in PDF format. Actually the Beitman manuals seem to have better scan quality than the Riders. Most all of the free or cheap (eBay) Riders I've seen seem to have all come from the same original source.
The best Rider scans I've seen came from Radio Data that did their own scans that came out much better than any source I've seen to date. The two problems with them is they cost $35 and they currently don't seem to be taking orders (Paypal issues). Even with the best scans from Radio Data I'm still not ready to get rid of my Rider manuals, but also having an electronic copy does come in handy at times.
Edit: It looks like Radio Data is no longer in business because their website is gone. Hopefully they'll come back or find another way to sell their CD's/DVD's because their Rider's really are the best scans I've seen.
