Sign me off

Post by exray on Thu May 14, 2009 6:40 am

Sign me off of this forum. Its just more of the badge flashing that I have seen with Bill Cahill in all of his other iterations of Chat Room Master and ARF Moderator.

Huh?
What's your problem, Bill?
I haven't been flashing any badges anywhere.
A post got nasty, it was stopped.
The rule according to ROBERT, is NO political bashing.
I agree with him.
As long as it has been friendly ploitics wondering what's going on, etc., I have seen no problem.
I ask that you calm down. I'm following rules also.
And, up to this point, politics are still allowed. Just no bashing.
Bill Cahill

Obviously your idea of bashing and mine are vastly different.

Where and how did the post get nasty? Please provide details here.

Is there any chance of asking the originator of this forum ( not you ) what his decision regarding locking the thread would be?

I would also suggest that the thread in question was locked by you only when your side of the political divide was robustly critiqued.

Ron.

The original owner left it up to me to decide.
You go read the post over. You know well it was bashing Obama. He may be no favorite of mine either, but, that doesn't make it right to bash. The first thread that was locked was locked by a moderator. Not me. I agreed with him though, that the subject had run its' course.
I have not had much to say about other political postings, in fact, when they remain civil, I sometimes leave my own comment. I'm not the nasty badge cop looming the forums you, and, Bill obviously think I am. I have my opinions, also. But, common courtessy is common courtessy.
Perhaps you lack some of it? I surely hope not. You never hit me as being that way before, including at ARF.

Robert's wishes, and, mine, have been simple. No bashing of anyone, and, show some common courtessy. Also, no cussing, asterisks, or, sound alike words.
Thank you.
Bill Cahill

I think exray and Ron Pond are genuine decent people. I was particularly interested in Ron's report on his country's situation. Lord knows we don't hear much from other sources. He was giving us fair warning. We are in great man made trouble as a nation.
Saul Olinsky wrote a book; "Rules For Radicals". Read a bit of it, and you may understand what is happening to us. No bashing from me. Just reality. BTW, Carl Marx wrote a book or two too. Funny, some of his text gets into speeches lately.

I'll tell you what.. To prove I'm not the badge toting cop exray and, Ron are painting me as, I'll reopen the post. But, I still say NO bashing of anyone, or, any party. If that happens, I will close it again.
Please let's keep it polite.
Thank you.
I don't like what's happenning either, but, It's more than one party's fault.
I think all share the blame. It comes down to greed.

I wouldn't say greed myself. The players have plenty of money and cash flow. Power is the drug. The game is played for power. Just my opinion.

Bill C...ok, you're not an ogre but by the same token there is no need to "micro-manage" every single post looking for flaming or bashing aspects. Criticism of points and opinions is not the same as "bashing" or "flaming" which are two words that you rely on for guidance.
The concept of locking to prevent a flame war goes moot here...after all, there are only 4 or 5 posters here and we all know each other Smile

If you would leave things alone I venture to say that you won't have any problems from the posters here.

Point taken, but, Bill, please, let's have some radio posts here as well.
You have got a vast store of knowledge, and, you could be of great help in our technical section.
Thank you.

Point taken., Bill. I'd much rather be a leader than a follower. But maybe its not in my nature. I haven't seen any radio posts from your handle either.

You're now the "owner" of the site. You get to set the standards, I don't. I'll play if you play.
