Bad American?

Post by Tony V on Mon Apr 13, 2009 11:00 pm

YES, I'M A BAD AMERICAN

I am Blue Collar born and bred and I believe in God.

I believe in American products.

I believe the money I make belongs to me and my family, not some governmental functionary be it Democratic or Republican!

I'm in touch with my feelings and I like it that way!

I think owning a gun doesn't make you a killer, it makes you a smart American.

I think being a minority does not make you noble or victimized, and does not entitle you to anything more than anyone else.

I believe everyone has a right to pray to his or her God when and where they want to.

My heroes are John Wayne, Babe Ruth, Roy Rogers and those who have served our country.

I don't hate the rich. I don't pity the poor.

I know wrestling is fake and I don't waste my time watching or arguing about it.

I've never owned a slave, or was a slave, I haven't burned any witches or been persecuted by the Turks and neither have you!

I believe if you don't like the way things are here, go back to where you came from and change your own country!

This is AMERICA ...We like it the way it is!

If you were born here and don't like it you are free to move to any other country that will have you.

I want to know which church is it exactly where the Reverend Jesse Jackson preaches, where he gets his money, and why he is always part of the problem and not the solution.

I also think the cops have the right to pull you over if you're breaking the law, regardless of who you are.

And, no, I don't mind having my face shown on my drivers license.

I think it's good.... And I'm proud that 'God' is written on my money.

I think if you dont know how a ballot works, I don't want you deciding who should be running the most powerful nation in the world for the next four years.

I dislike those people standing in the intersections trying to sell me stuff or trying to guilt me into making 'donations' to their cause. Get a Job and do your part!

I believe that it doesn't take a village to raise a child, it takes two parents.

I believe 'illegal' is illegal no matter what the lawyers think.

I believe the American flag should be the only one allowed in AMERICA !

This is America and ENGLISH should be the ONLY spoken language. If you cant speak it, learn it like those who came before us did!

If this makes me a BAD American, then yes, I'm a BAD American.

WE WANT OUR COUNTRY BACK!

Sustitute the word AUSTRALIA into the appropriate places in the above and I'll come on board......The statement holds true for both countries.

Unfortunately for you and I, the people in both our countries have just recently voted in socialist administrations, and given the people who have been parachuted into positions of power in the White House since your general election, a cause for great concern for the future.

Boys, please play nice here. I'm an American, but, we don't need any fireball throwing.

Sorry, but the above rant seems pretty indicative of "Angry White Male" syndrome. I'm neither exactly strongly liberal nor strongly conservative. I grew up in the rural south and now live in metro California. I've lived and been around people with totally opposing views from "other side" and heard enough anger from both to last me a lifetime.

The bottom line is that there are more similarities than differences but we'll never find that out if all anyone does is worship their own ideologies and refuse to even talk to "the other side". Liberals and Conservatives do exactly the same thing, which is assume that they are both on the side of right and thus can't possibly be wrong.

Short answer is that I don't have an answer. But assailing the other side or painting people as either stark conservatives or liberals with either side seen as a great evil will never accomplish anything. Period.

Re: Bad American?

Post by Tony V on Thu Apr 23, 2009 7:27 pm

This one was emailed to me and found it to be interesting enough to post here. For the most part i agree with what was stated on it in its original form. I just edited out what i didn't agree with since my name is attached to this post and i cant delete it. These are some of my opinions and as such, i agree that everyone on this earth has their own, whether they're the same or different than mine. I am man enough to respect and listen to opposing opinions of my own and don't force my beliefs down anyones throat. If everyone marched to the same drummer this would be a boring world.

As far as fighting, i dont see any post on this topic that states that. It was not my intention to stir up anything other than constructive conversation and for that i apologize.

Its funny that this topic, the poll on politic's and a few other political posts are the only post's (with the exception of two or three radio related posts) that have seen any participation since ARF has started back up. For this i am saddened. Since this forum has been up, the first thing you heard about it was that it was going to be more free and less restricted than ARF without moderation overkill...so i knew this problem eventually was going to happen.

I concider my hands smacked and wont post anything like this again. I take the hint. I do know that others will not and it will continue. More power to ya!

I see nothing above that requires apology. I see no personal attacks.
I came here thinking more discussion would be allowed.
If not, why be here?

I love our country, and want the best for the people in it.
I think the basis of the country's founding is being undermined. Not good.
Our country is a little like an old radio. Best to keep it original. Restore to working condition.

Tony, You have said nothing wrong, and, your post is excellent.
Just a couple posters were getting negative, but, it stopped quickly.
I'd much prefer you don't quit.
You are very valuable, and, brought up some very good points.
Same goes with the others.
I like to check on things here because this has been a very interesting subject.

As for other topics, I am also dissappointed that we have so many members, and, very few posts.

Just think if it wasn't, my way is better than your way. Can't we all just get along? Suspect

If that were to happen we would be in heaven.

No need for us vs thems. But greed and control are in our makeup. This world started in Eden, and when the end comes, those that serve God and their fellow man with love will get us back there.
Then those who don't, well you know what will happen. Sad

I'm sorry, but I can't help but personally disagree with that statement. Its so funny to me that even though President Bush was actually one of the most unpopular presidents in US history and if judged by the opinions of the bulk of the Western World also one of the most politically damaging presidents in US history that suddenly, now with a new President who hasn't been in office hardly 100 days yet has a 70% approval rating that the world is going to hell in a handbasket. When I hear people say " Oh- whoas me, the US is now being torn apart by the forces of evil." I can't help but wonder if they actually thought things were great when the last President was in power. I would find that very difficult to believe because we were indeed in a huge heap of trouble.

Its called democracy, it works, it changes, and it does its job much of the same way as it did 200+ years ago. Yes, I too am proud to be an American. But am I scared for the future? Of course I am. But I'm also very proud that we as a country can choose to elect totally different people versus the same ole same ole just like the bulk of the world does.

"..President Bush was actually one of the most unpopular presidents in US history.."
Please tell what your basing that on.

Facts or opinion?
----------------------
Gallup poll for Bush
09/21/2001 09/22/2001 for 89% against 6 % no opinion 4 %

Gallup poll for Obama
01/22/2009 01/24/2009 for 69% against 13% no opinion 18%

Depends on where you get your info or want to believe. Suspect

Given the growing list of ideologically dangerous individuals your new Commander-in-Chief is gathering around him, and as an inhabitant of a country which slavishly follows your country in many areas of politics and lifestyle, I have cause for great concern for our collective future.

Appeasement of your adversaries on a global scale has never been a workable solution.....just do a little research on the activities of pre WW2 British prime minister, Neville Chamberlain to see what I mean.

You may think your new boss is the best thing since sliced bread but I can assure you there are many who would disagree and it now appears certain that this number is on the increase.
