I'm Building a Don Williams 45 Collection

Post by moses_007 on Sun Feb 15, 2009 7:41 pm

I've been buying groups and bunches of Don Williams 45rpm records on eBay. Some are radio station stereo copies with the same song on both sides, others are regular records that were sold to the public. Every one of them are in near mint condition and sound fantastic on my record players. I've been a Don Williams fan since the early 1970s, and I've seen Don live and in concert three times. In my opinion Don is the best country singer ever...I could never get tired of listening to his music. I was saddened last year to learn that Don had retired from singing and concerts and is now living on his farm. I suppose anyone needs to retire sometime. So far I've found the following Don Williams 45s:

Love is on a Roll
Desperately
Lord I Hope this Day is Good
Lord have Mercy on a Country Boy
It's Time for Love
Miracles
If Hollywood Don't Need You
Stay Young
I've Got a Winner in You
She Never Knew Me
I'll Never Be in Love Again
Senorita
We're All the Way
Then It's Love
Heartbeat in the Darkness
Another Place, Another Time
Old Coyote Town
Maggie's Dream
The Ties That Bind
Till the Rivers All Run Dry
We've Got a Good Fire Goin'
If I Needed You (duet with Emmylou Harris)

Larry,
If your a Don Williams fan, you might want to look up the Pozo Seco Singers. That was the group he was with in the 60's which was a country folk sound type band. Some good stuff!

Yeah, Don was one of the original members of the Pozo Seco Singers.
