I had occaision not too long ago to light up a Zenith Royal 185 shirtpocket radio to help me tune it in a dim light. Actually, I replaced the small filament bulb with a white light LED. This makes for a much longer battery life. I'm sure it can be adapted to other shirtpockets. Photos & directions are posted at the following link...

A first find of the Zenith Kind

Hey guys I just went to a local secondhand store and bought a Zenith 1000 for $103. It has a bad speaker but I will look around on the web to see if I can get a NOS or close replacement. Seems to work on AM and one Shortwave band No major flaws, a small developing crack on the handle, small cosmetic issues here and there but nothing important. Someone did change some transistors, but otherwise no soldering cannons were used that I can tell. LOL

Well just purchased a new Grundig S359DL...Got it at RS..I bought it to

replace a older R/S DX 392 that took a fall off my table...I have not really used the

Grundig very much as it does not have Direct Keypad entry

for shortwave..I like the features and controls..has better than normal Am and

FM reception..shortwave is good but now I have to dig for the frequencies..maybe

thats why they call it aGrundig Ido like the fact that it takes either D batteries

or double A, as I never ...
