Have you ever heard of this radio there is no model number but here is some pictures,

I changed the filter caps because of loud hum now it works good.

And I do have the knobs for it.

And what about the 12SK7 and 12SQ7 I haven't seen them made like this before.

Hi Lee, that's a neat radio. I saw a Learadio at a garage sale once, my wife wanted me to look at something and when I walked back, someone else was buying it.
It's similar to one that's on ebay currently.

I like those square, plain radios myself, however the grill cloth looks like a couch we had in the early 70's.
I'm pretty sure that's a model 662.

Is this the same model?

Thanks that looks like this one.

I paid $15.00 for it and ebay wants $16.00 plus 68.75 for shipping, so I guess I came out ahead on the deal.

Those are interesting versions of those Sylvania tubes that I have never seen. Judging by the logo I'd guess them to be late 60s or 70s tubes???

I've seen other older tubes packaged like that...thats where the MG suffix number applies...but they have always been 30's era. I suspect these are examples that have a glass tube inside the metal envelope, and very likely uses the structure of the modern miniature equivalent like 12BA6, 12AV6, etc.???

I'd pay $15 just for those tubes Maybe they are common to you older guys but this is my first instance of seeing them.

Bill, Are all the radios on your site yours? There are some great radios there! I really like the very early sets and believe it or not, I don't own any. I have about 40-50 radios but no early sets like you have. I don't know much about them, so I never purchased any. I'd really like to look into some in the future. I own mostly very late 20's to late 30's sets and have quite a few consoles (much to my wife's regret)

Sure they are. Yep. I'm not always so proud of my rookie restorations nowadays and usually link directly to my homebrews for ego props. Interests change, I'd rather build a radio than buy one

Those tubes are from the 70's, and, not common. They were among the last made by Sylvania.
They weren't made as well. Tended to short.

I also have a Learadio very similar to this one. It is a model 6615. It's got slug tuning and an extra 12SK7 for RF. It's a nice-sounding set in a very plain cabinet. And the grill cloth is definately not a tartan pattern. My set was filled with Ken-Rads. I replaced the Kenrad 35Z5 with a NOS Sylvania similar to yours, but glass instead of metal.

No. I'm sorry to say that tartan grill cloth is NOT original.
Mine was a tan cloth with a very slight design. Mostly plain.
Wish I had another one of those radios.

I like the looks of that radio. Was it a fairly good sounding radio too?

Sadly, I don't know. I wasn't interested in it at the time, so, gave it away.
Now, I wish I had kept it.
