cool 4 tube alarm clock

Post by bowfin on Fri May 22, 2009 1:03 pm

I found this in a garage with a RCA 100A speaker also. Kinda different 4 tube set by Telechron. http://www.nostalgiaair.org/Resources/792/M0021792.htm Not quite done with it yet. The case polised up sweeeeet. Knobs look new. I'll have to put the cap can back on it, I didn't stuff it. Early model used a 35z5. Now if only i had a 50L6gt. The one that came with it is bad and i don't have any. Oh btw i put my finger through the speaker...LOL Evil or Very Mad

DIRTY

CLEAN

That's a weird set, especially the little square chassis.

what happened to the i.f. cans? LOL I like the dial pulley system. Notice the slug tuning? It's got a straight wire out for antenna. Cabnet is real sharp.

The radio was GE's cheap series. The clock is Telechron.
Where's you antenna?

That is an unusual clock radio. Neat, though.

Very common radio.
I have one unusual one where they painted the main case gold, and, ivory, and, put wood gainning on top.
It's still a cheap radio.
IF's are under the chassis.
Tight set to work on.

Wow. That cleaned up nice. Smile I like how compact the electronics are, even though I'm sure it was a pain to restore. Good work btw.
